Despite its vast deserts, Nevada is home to some of the most impressive ice skating rinks in the country. From massive Las Vegas rinks to downtown skating areas in Reno, ice skating enthusiasts in Nevada have plenty to look forward to. Here are the seven best ice skating rinks in the state! 

1. Las Vegas Ice Center, Las Vegas, NV

The Las Vegas Ice Center is open to public skating regularly and offers many special events throughout the year. Special events include home school skating, between 12:30 p.m.-2:30 p.m. (with free hot chocolate), teen nights on Friday with a live DJ, and more. 

2. SoBe Ice Arena, Las Vegas, NV

The SoBe Ice Arena, also in Vegas, is part of the Fiesta Rancho, a large gaming facility. The rink is National Hockey League (NHL) regulation size, at 31,000 square-feet. They offer skating lessons, skate schools, and various sports leagues.

3. Downtown Reno Ice Rink, Reno, NV

From November to February, the city of Reno, Nevada, hosts a fabulous ice rink in the downtown area. While primarily used for ice skating, feel free to come by with friends for pickup hockey games.

4. City National Arena, Las Vegas, NV

The City National Arena is home to the Vegas Golden Knights NHL ice hockey team, and is open to the public. They offer public skating, stick and puck lessons, and are open to the public to watch practices. Check their website for updated events and a schedule of upcoming games.

5. Igloo Recreation Center, Elko, NV

The Igloo Recreation Center in Elko, Nevada boasts a 25,000-square-foot “multi-functional center designed for year-round sports, activities, and events,” according to their website. 6. Arlington Square Ice Rink, Carson City, NV

Carson City-ites, come on down to the Arlington Ice Rink for some fantastic winter recreation. They have frequent skating sessions all week, but the hours vary so make sure to check their website for specifics. Also, make sure to take advantage of their regular promotions and specials.
