If you've never shot a gun before, On Guard Defense is the perfect place to begin your firearms journey. You'll learn about the safe and responsible use of firearms under the direct supervision of instructors and range safety officers who will help you every step of the way. Our NSSF First Shots program was developed to introduce new shooters to the safe and proper use of firearms, build knowledge and confidence in gun handling and help you understand how to get your shots on target. First Shots is open to new shooters and families with kids ages 10+ (kids 17 and younger must be accompanied by parent/legal guardian). Course topics include: Essential gun safety rules Gun handling fundamentals Ammunition and firearms storage Defensive shooting fundamentals Gun handling instruction and live-fire shooting on the range We provide: Quality instruction by certified Instructors & Range Safety Officers Firearm rental (.22 rifle or pistol) Ammunition (25 rounds) Eye and hearing protection Shoot-N-C target All participants that complete a post event survey receive a $25 coupon to redeem at On Guard Defense for future training or range time.
