Join the Des Plaines Police and Fire Departments at National Night Out!

This year’s event will take place at Forest Elementary School and Algonquin Middle School Grounds on Tuesday, August 5, 2025. Come see specialty Fire and Police Department vehicles and learn all about what they do. Stop by to see K9 Jager show off his skills and check out a demonstration from our Tactical Response Team. The evening will also include food trucks, games, live entertainment, activities and displays from various community groups.

Back to school is right around the corner! In addition to the National Night Out event, the Early Learning Center is hosting a resource fair inside their building that is connected to Forest Elementary. Please enter through doors 8 or 11. A registration event will take place inside Algonquin Middle School at 767 East Algonquin Rd. Be sure to stop by each building for more community resources and registration information. 

Limited picnic table seating is available and attendees are welcome to bring lawn chairs and picnic blankets. Portable restrooms and indoor facilities will be available.

No alcohol is permitted on School District property.

Schedule of Events

4-6 p.m. - The Early Learning Center (ELC) is having a Community Resource Fair from 4-6 p.m. in the Early Learning Center (building attached to Forest Elementary 
School). Please enter through doors 8 or 11. Doors to the ELC will close at 6 p.m. Outdoor facilities will be available. 
4-8 p.m. - Food Truck service is from 4-8 p.m.
5-8 p.m. - National Night Out festivities will be from 5-8 p.m. outside on school grounds. Demonstrations will begin approximately at 6:30 p.m.
5-8 p.m. - Algonquin Middle School Registration Night will be from 5-8 p.m. inside Algonquin Middle School. 
7:15-8 p.m. - School of Rock will perform live on stage! Get ready to jam out while enjoying a bite to eat from the food trucks.
