The 11th Annual Stride For Sight "Saving Sight, Changing Lives" is a family and pet friendly 5K run/walk hosted by Lions Sight Research Foundation and San Antonio Eye Bank. Our mission in hosting the run/walk is to educate and inspire the community about the Gift of Sight, healthy vision, and to build awareness for the resources that our partners offer.
Our event Unites individuals and organizations whom are supportive of our mission, Remembers local cornea/eye donors who gave the ultimate gift of sight, gives Hope to those who are need of cornea transplants, as well as those whom rely on free vision exams and other vision services.
This year's run/walk will take place rain or shine. (Note: If severe weather conditions deem it is unsafe to travel to the park, we will send out an email and post on social media.)
Everyone is WELCOME - Runners, walkers, Lions members, donor families, transplant recipients, eye care professionals, allied healthcare staff and companies, service clubs and organizations, running clubs, students, we mean everyone!
The event will offer FREE breakfast tacos, FREE kid's fun run with prizes, entertainment, display of the Gift of Sight memorial quilts, team awards and more.
Are you a runner but can't make it on race morning? Would you like to contribute to these awesome organizations? We have a Virtual Option! You can download a personalized race bib, submit your results, download a finisher certificate, and YOU CAN RUN YOUR 5K ANYWHERE! Virtual registrants get a shirt and a finisher medal. You can choose to pick them up at packet pick up, or have it shipped to you. (Please note, if you choose shipping, it may arrive after the date of the event.)
