A hunting license is required for any resident 18 years of age or older who takes birds or mammals. "Take" is defined attempting or succeeding in hunting, pursuing, catching, capturing, or killing. You can purchase your hunting license online at the California Department of Fish and Wildlife website. You can also purchase a license at a License Sales Office or License Agent.
