Surround yourself with the beauty of the great outdoors on this100-acre "wild arboretum" designated as a National Urban Wildlife Sanctuary. Discover more than 300 species of woody plants, hundreds of varieties of wildflowers and native grasses, 200 species of birds, and a large variety of other wildlife along three miles of National Recreation trails.
There's a spring-fed pond stocked for fishing, and areas for a relaxing family picnic. The Visitor Center features interactive exhibits, a meeting room, natural science classroom, nature library, observation deck, and gift shop. Beautiful flower gardens and outdoor sculptures surround the Visitor Center.

The Nature Center also features a NEW children's playscape area (completed in Spring 2012) where young children and their families are invited to create, explore, and get hands-on with the beautiful nature surroundings. The Jim Smith Family Playscape was created thanks to a grant from the United Health Ministries Fund and several donors and volunteers.
