For families looking to avoid the crowds of Mammoth, Rock Creek Lodge is a quiet winter paradise. Never crowded, even on the busiest weekends, it is the perfect place to learn or improve your cross-country skiing, and/or the perfect place to find untracked powder weeks after a storm, and there's no driving, no cooking, no hassle. We take care of everything, or almost.

We'll transport you and your gear via chauffeured snowmobile two miles from your car to the comfort of a wood-fire warmed rustic or modern cabin; serve you multi-course gourmet meals complete with fine wines and local micro brews in our beautiful new dining room, offer you ski instruction, equipment rentals, an authentic dry-heat Finnish sauna, and great local knowledge regarding conditions and terrain. All you need is a big smile, and a hardy mountain spirit.

For well over half a century, winter at Rock Creek Lodge has been the local's secret. A place of intense beauty, vast wilderness, pure solitude, and not to mention, home to some of the driest snow in the Sierra Nevada. With the combination of spectacular terrain, and a fun, relaxed atmosphere, individuals, families, and couples alike are sure to experience the magic that's been drawing skiers since the pre-eminent Sierra mountaineer Norman Clyde, became the canyon's first winter resident nearly 80 years ago.
