Windom Arena

The 50,000 sq. ft., multi-purpose facility, built in 1975, was one of the first indoor ice arenas in southwestern Minnesota.

Offering year-round recreation, the Arena includes two air-conditioned racquetball courts in the southwest corner of the building. Wallyball, a version of volleyball, and three-on-three basketball may also be played on the courts. Racquetball leagues meet throughout the year while Wallyball leagues are held in the fall and winter. Weekend tournaments for Wallyball and Racquetball are scheduled in late winter and early spring. A second sheet of ice measuring 45 x 165 feet was installed in 2006.

From Mid-November through March, artificial ice fills the 85×200-ft. rink in front of the grandstand, which seats 1,100. Youth hockey games and tournaments, figure skating lessons and an ice show, broomball and open skating are activities that keep the 1996 LP-powered Zamboni busy.

An indoor batting cage and golf driving range were added in 1996.

During spring and summer months, horse shows, auto shows, auctions and special county fair events are held in the Arena.

A large paved parking lot provides an ideal outdoor dance floor for summer months. During the county fair, the lot becomes a midway.
