ATVs cannot be issued a license plate to operate on public roads in Louisiana. ATVs are not designated for road use and therefore cannot be legally ridden on the street. You may, however, ride your ATV on the shoulder of all public roads and highways (except interstate highways) for the purposes of farm-related activities within a five-mile radius of your farm.
