Most game seasons in Minnesota are in the later summer, fall, and into early winter. In the spring, there are a few limited seasons for turkey, goose, and crow. Although most of the seasons occur later in the years, there are a few important license and lottery deadlines that occur in the spring and early summer, such as the bear and elk hunt lottery deadlines. The longest season is for small game –rabbits and squirrels – which lasts from mid-September through the end of February. Check the DNR website each year for the dates of all hunting and trapping seasons in Minnesota.
