Like many of the coastal Atlantic states, South Carolina's variety of game fish species, both salt and freshwater, is tremendous. You can go after anything from rainbow or brown trout to mahi mahi (dolphin) and tarpon. And just about everything in between. Largemouth and smallmouth bass are wildly popular sport species, as are redfish, striped bass, flounder and spotted seatrout. Offshore anglers can find marlin, swordfish and tuna a short boat ride away.
