Learn the basics of casting and retrieving while playing a fun game!

Backyard bass is designed to teach the fundamentals of casting and retrieving with a standard rod and reel without the dangers of actual fish hooks. The game also teaches users how to use the TPWD outdoor annual to determine if your "catch" is legal or needs to be thrown back.

Meet near the fishing pier.

This program is weather dependent. In the event of inclement weather this program will be cancelled. All park programs are open and free to the public upon payment of entrance fees (adults 13 and up are $3, children 12 and under are always free!). No need to register, just show up.
