A program for high school jazz bands, Essentially Ellington aims to elevate musicianship, broaden perspectives and inspire performance.

All ensembles participating in the BYU Essentially Ellington Regional Jazz Festival are required to join the free Jazz at Lincoln Center’s 2022–2023 Essentially Ellington High School Jazz Band Program.

When you join the program, you receive:
Orchestra transcriptions
Reference recordings
Teaching guides
Newsletters and other resources

Schedule:
8:00am – 4:00pm: High School Performances - Music Building, BYU
7:30pm: Synthesis: BYU Jazz Festival - Perfomance Hall, Muisc Building, BYU
