It is a 5km run - it's you against the clock.
The course is a double out and back through a forested area on a paved surface. It is a flat course with the start and finish co-located near the parking area. For the first loop out, go from the parking area across the wooden boardwalk and turn right to run down the Mountain Goat Trail to the marked turn around just before Midway Road. Turn around and go back to the start, pass the start following the main trail as it zig zags out to the marked turned around by the "Pearl's" sign. Turn around, head back the same route across the boardwalk and down the Mountain Goat Trail to the turn around point marked "Lap Two Turn Around". Turn around and go back to the start/finish line.
The course is 5000m (5K) long. The course is at Mountain Goat Trail, Sewanee. The course is run entirely on trail paths. Some sections of the course may accumulate mud, leaves and puddles after rain. Dependent on availability, marshals will be at key sections of the course, or signs will be in place.
Please remember that the parkrun uses shared paths. For the continued success of the event, please give way to other park users. This won't hurt your time, it won't stop you from getting a PB and it will make sure everyone continues to enjoy the event.
Please, wherever possible walk, jog, cycle or use public transport when attending the event. If you do have to drive, please consider car-sharing to reduce our impact on both the environment and other park users. Please also watch out for other park users when arriving and leaving.
