In order to purchase a hunting license in Minnesota, you must provide your social security number, public safety identification or driver's license number, and your DNR firearms safety training number. If you don't have one of these items, you must obtain it before applying for a license. A firearms safety number is not required for application for an apprentice hunter validation.
