To buy a hunting license in South Dakota, you'll need proof that you are a resident of the state and that your domicile is there. A South Dakota-issued driver's license, state ID card, or a residency declaration is required. You'll also need your Social Security Number, and if you're under 16, your HuntSafe certificate. At the time you buy the license, you must also furnish all appropriate fees.
