Minnesota boasts hundreds of miles of off-road trails, including more than 50 designated state trails, forests, and recreation areas. With a driver’s license and safety certificate, you can drive your ATV on state forest roads. Where local laws do not prohibit it, Class 2 ATVs and properly-equipped Class 1 ATVs can be operated on local streets and road rights-of-way. The Superior and Chippewa National Forests also offer ATV riding opportunities. Check their websites or with a ranger office for up-to-date information on trails and conditions.
