Hunting in Maine is permitted in some state parks, most wildlife management areas, and some national wildlife refuges. Hunting at historic sites is illegal. Hunting is allowed on private property with permission only. Hunting is not permitted within 300 feet of campsites, picnic areas, outbuildings, homes or businesses.
