Schedule of Events

10:00 am: Parade at Railroad Avenue in Rifle Railroad Avenue
This colorful community celebration begins at 10 a.m. on Railroad Avenue. Enter your group's float, classic car, or marching band to be part of the parade. Groups or people who participate in the parade can win 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place in each of four categories: Float, classic auto, performance team, or horse entry. The coveted "Best Themed Float Award" will also be given.

12:00 pm: Car show
The 18th annual Summer of Thunder Car Show returns to Rifle on August 2, from noon to 4 p.m. Get up close with these vintage works of art and muscle and chat with the owners about this true labor of love. The show and judging take place at the Garfield County Fairgrounds, 1001 Railroad Ave. A swap/shop car parts flea market is also taking place at this year's event. Bring your spare parts and sell them, trade them, or donate them to someone who is working on a classic.

1:00 pm: Open Exhibits drop off
Entries accepted in all divisions. Artwork and photography entries must be entered by Sunday.
