1. Westport PAL Rink at Longshore, Westport, CT

Westport PAL Rink at Longshore in Westport, Connecticut, provides skaters with a whimsical, outdoor ice skating experience. Find rentals, skate sharpening, and lessons.

2. Simsbury Farms Recreation, West Simsbury, CT

Simsbury Farms Recreation offers an ice skating rink during the winter. A roof covers the rink from the elements, but all sides are open to the weather. Skating lessons are available, as are skate rentals! 

3. Gorham's Pond, Darien, CT

Gorham’s Pond is an excellent place to go ice skating or play hockey. The town will post signs if the ice becomes too thin to safely skate. But for the ultimate pond skating experience, head to Gorham. 

4. Rinks at Veterans Park, Norwalk, CT

Created and maintained by SoNo Ice House, the skating rinks at Veteran’s Park are a winter staple in this area. Lessons and skate rentals are available.

5. Redding Community Center, Redding, CT

The Redding Community Center’s seasonal ice skating rink provides the perfect space for outdoor winter fun. Open from dawn to dusk each day, check with the community center for specific hours that are open for hockey only.

6. The Rink at Longbrook Park, Stratford, CT

A park with splash pads in the warm weather months, Longbrook Park becomes an ice skating haven in the winter. Open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., there is no charge to skate.

7. Gould Manor Park, Fairfield, CT

The pond at Gould Manor Park is maintained by the town of Fairfield once it freezes, and is open for ice skating provided the ice stays thick enough. The ice is measured regularly by town employees to ensure it remains safe to skate!

When Pickett’s Pond freezes over in Osbornedale State Park, ice skating enthusiasts take to the rink. The pavilion features a fireplace that is perfect for warming up. Lights allow for evening skating.

The New Canaan Winter Club features an outdoor ice rink for skating and hockey. It is a members-only club, but if a member invites you to join them, it’s an excellent place for winter fun!
