The popular sport of paddleboarding has seamlessly made its way to Wisconsin waters. Come summertime, rent a paddleboard if you don’t own one and get out on the lake! You’ll love how much fun you’ll have balancing, exercising, and above all, relaxing. Here are five great paddleboarding spots in the state.

1. Lake Minocqua

Lake Minocqua is part of a couple of larger chained lakes in northern Wisconsin. Put your paddleboards in the water and paddle the perimeter of the lake. There are tons of beautiful homes and restaurants to see. Rent a board from Coontail Paddleboard Rentals for tons of fun without the commitment to purchasing a board.

2. Lake Wingra, Madison, WI

Lake Wingra is the perfect place for a fun day of watersports—especially paddleboarding. Rent a paddleboard right on Lake Wingra at Wingra Boats for a cheap. You’ll love how smooth the water is and how even beginners can find a steady paddle among the waves.

3. Lake Michigan

While this large lake does offer challenging waves for those looking for a stimulating day on the lake, the caves, shorelines, and gorgeous scenery make for a once in a life time trip. Check out Door County Kayak Tours for both paddleboard rentals and paddleboard tours.

4. Geneva Lake

Geneva Lake is a calm, yet moderate place for all paddleboard experience levels. Gordy’s Marine offers fun rentals including our beloved paddleboards. While there tends to be some water traffic during the summer, you’ve got to add paddleboarding on Geneva Lake to your summer bucket list.

5. Lake Wisconsin

Lake Wisconsin, located in Columbia County, is home to all sorts of watersport activities. Put your paddleboard in and cruise around the lake looking at homes and the beautiful Wisconsin scenery. There are tons of low traffic areas you can sneak off to for some calm waters and peaceful shores.
