Escape the late winter blues and have some laughs as Tibbits is excited to welcome comedian and Detroit native John Heffron to headline Tibbits’ annual Comedy Fest at the historic Tibbits Opera House. Two other Michigan-based comedians, Melissa Hager and Gerrit Elzinga, will be appearing as well.

Energetic and accessible, Heffron shares an array of relatable experiences from childhood through life as a married father. Heffron has taken a lifetime of hard-won experience and crafted an engaging, enlightening and entertaining comedy career, which led him to a victory in the second season of NBC’s Last Comic Standing. He has also appeared on The Tonight Show, Chelsea Lately, The Late Late Show, HBO, FX, VH1, A&E and CMT, as well as two half-hour Comedy Central specials and an hour special, “Middle Class Funny” taped for Netflix.

Also appearing as the featured comedian will be the funny farm girl, Melissa Hager. Melissa brings a lifetime of homespun wisdom growing up on a Michigan farm and turns it into big fun for her audiences. Not only is she funny, but Melissa runs The Comedy Series, booking comedians all across the Midwest!

The emcee for the evening at Comedy Fest is Michigan’s own Gerrit Elzinga. Coming from the Grand Rapids area, he has appeared all across Michigan, has been seen on Laughs on FOX, at Gilda's LaughFest in Grand Rapids, MI opening for Nate Bargatze, competing in the Laughing Devil Comedy Festival in New York City, and more.

Considered clean comedy, Comedy Fest is still intended for adult audiences, and should be considered PG-13. Single tickets for the event range from $20 to $35, including fees. Doors will open at 6pm, with seating beginning at 6:30pm. Tibbits also wishes to extend its thanks to HaasCaywood PC, who are sponsoring this event.
