3:30pm - 4:30pm:Business Duck Race

Business members of the Pomme de Terre Chamber of Commerce can purchase a larger duck to decorate and race just prior to the Duck Derby. This is the 3rd year for the Business Duck Race and there have been some very creative decorated ducks in the past.

4:00pm - 5:00pm: The Great Pomme de Terre Duck Derby

The Duck Derby is a race of pre-paid ducks dropped in the Pomme de Terre Dam Outlet. Anyone can purchase an Adopt A Duck ticket. These tickets have the number of a little rubber duck. Over 2,000 numbered ducks are dropped in the Outlet and float the river. They are funneled to a winners area where the first three ducks to reach the finish line win.
Those with the corresponding tickets win a portion of the proceeds from the sales of the Adopt a Duck tickets.
-50% of the proceeds goes to the Fireworks Fund

-50% of the proceeds are split between 3 winners:
1st place = 30%
2nd place = 15%
3rd place = 5%

5:00pm-10:30pm: Fireworks over the Water

Following the Duck Derby, move up above the Pomme de Terre Dam by the Us. Army Corps of Engineers office for the festivities prior to Fireworks Over the Water. A DJ from 4:30-7 pm will be providing a variety of music as you visit the booths next to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers office and then The County Liners will be playing from 7 pm until the Fireworks start at dusk around 9:30 pm. The Fireworks celebration displays over the lake, drawing large numbers of people along the shorelines, parks, picnic areas, and boats on the water.
