It Takes A Village: 2nd Annual Community Health Fair

It Takes a Village is a health fair for Bay Area residents hosted by The Good Life Program for Healthy Aging. This annual in-person health fair stands as a vibrant celebration of health, empowerment, and unity, merging education, inspiration, and connection. We celebrate Black American cultural heritage and promote a better understanding of the unique health challenges faced by the Black community. It Takes a Village aims to catalyze positive change and promote lasting wellness. It Takes a Village unites the Black community in a shared pursuit of health, knowledge, and unity.

Join us at our free 2nd Annual It Takes A Village Health Fair! Experience a diverse range of workshops, seminars, and presentations. Expert speakers will be delving into subjects that matter most: disparities in healthcare, mental health stigma, nutrition education, preventive care, and chronic disease management. Get a peek inside the variety of free classes we offer, from cardio/strength, pilates, dance, and cooking, all taught by top-tier instructors.

We'll also have an array of community partners on site to share their resources for the community. And let's not forget the live music, food trucks, free health screenings, free barbershop haircuts, the children's corner, and much, much more!

This free program for adults and seniors is brought to you by UC Davis Health and The City of Oakland Parks and Recreation, sponsored by the California Department of Public Health.
