COME TO BEAUTIFUL BLACKSBURG, VIRGINIA THIS FALL AND RUN WITH THE HOKIES! The 13th Annual Hokie Half Marathon and 5K will be held on September 28, 2025. With the first four miles on roads, the next six travel along the Huckleberry Bike Trail before heading back onto roads and bike trails for the final miles. Water and Gatorade are provided every two miles, along with a Gu station at mile eight, plus porta potties at several intervals along the course. Combined with a ton of live music throughout the course and plenty of cheering along the way, the Hokie Half is one you won't want to miss! Also check out the Hokie Half Kids Fun Run, a free program to knock out 13.1 cumulative miles over the weeks leading up to race day. So bring the whole family and come join us this fall and earn your Hokie Bird finisher medal and some awesome race swag! The gun goes off for the half marathon at 7:30am, followed by the start of the 5k at 8:00am.

Registration Info
Registration for the 2025 Hokie Half Marathon & 5k is now open! Registration fees go up August 19th to $95 for the Hokie Half Marathon and $36 for the Hokie 5K. Online registration closes at midnight on September 26th; paper forms will be accepted until 8pm on September 27th.

No Frills Option – For a cheaper price, you can run the Hokie Half with the no frills package. The no frills package means you get your racing bib, Hokie Bird finisher medal if you finish, food, and all the race course amenities. You will not receive the registration shirt, finisher shirt and other race swag.

Race Day Schedule:
5:00am – Buses start shuttling runners and fans from Chicken Hill Parking lot and will run till noon.
7:10am – Announcements and instructions given
7:15am – National Anthem
7:18am – Hokie Half runners proceed to start line (8-minute walk from finish line)
7:28am – Wave One in position
7:30am – Hokie Half Wave One starts (runners with an expected finishing time of under 2 hours 10 minutes should be in Wave One)
7:32am – Hokie Half Wave Two starts (runners with an expected finishing time of over 2 hours 10 minutes should be in Wave Two)
7:58am – Hokie 5K runners proceed to start line (next to finish line)
8:00am – Hokie 5K start
11:30am – Course Closes
12:00pm – Last buses leave finish for Chicken Hill parking lot (Lot B)
