7:30 pm : Kendall Arin: Epiphany

Come see how art is not merely entertainment but a catalyst to produce real change in our personal lives and beyond! Follow us in Epiphany as we discover the powerful voices of individuals who understand what music, poetry, and dance can do for the soul.  In this one-woman show, Kendall Arin brings to life diverse voices who used art to bring them through their darkest moments. “What do a woman who took on interrogation at the height of the civil rights movement, a man who needed to choose between the streets and life, and a young woman whose family is falling apart all have in common? They found their strength and resilience through art. In this one-woman show, Kendall Arin brings to life diverse voices who used art to bring them through their darkest moments. 7:30 pm : Deviated Theatre

In DEVIATED THEATRE’s original dance opera ‘Beyond’, Luna the Astronaut faces a dust storm on the planet Mars. Suspended between life and death in the middle of our solar system, she realizes the more profound journey has actually been her inner one.  With the help of a personified mother time, she reflects on her life as a child, battles figments of her own mind, and surveys all the moments leading up to now. For so many astronauts, the biggest game is the mental one.  And for Luna, getting lost on Mars is part of being found. Run Time: 1 hour

8:00 pm : Black Leaves Dance Company

“Shadows & Silhouettes – The Unveiling of the Black Man.” will feature the work of accomplished, professional dancers as well as the integration of members of our junior company, Samaras, whose participation will benefit their growth both as aspiring dancers and as young Black men. Throughout the development of our ballet we will engage underserved communities of DC in the power of dance theater, particularly in telling stories that not only feature Black men but center Black men. This ballet will involve us going through many chapters an obstacles we have faced and this first starts by looking in the mirror. Ages: Ages 18+ (Adults Only)
