iscover the beauty of birdwatching at Point Au Roche State Park! Join Champlain Area Trails for an engaging birding walk at the Point Au Roche Nature Center in Plattsburgh.

Due to the 4th of July landing on our First Friday Bird Walks series, we will have our walk a day earlier, on Thursday, July 3rd. This event runs from 9 to 10:30 a.m. and is perfect for nature enthusiasts of all skill levels. Our friendly guides, Kristin Collins, an environmental educator at Point Au Roche State Park Nature Center, and the Community Engagement and Outreach Manager for Champlain Area Trails, will lead the walk. While they're not expert birders, they bring a deep love for nature and an interest in birdwatching.

Explore the Great Outdoors:

Located on the stunning northwestern shore of Lake Champlain, Point Au Roche State Park features a wonderful combination of forested and open areas. As we stroll a few miles along the trails, we will look for birds that are returning in spring in this region. Enjoy breathtaking views of Lake Champlain and lush forests during this delightful morning outing!

Important Information:

- This is an outdoor walk in July, so be prepared for some mud and bugs.

- BYOB (Bring Your Own Binoculars) - the Nature Center will provide a few pairs for those in need.
