Bryanna is waiting for her “special” to be discovered. As a relentlessly curious child, she chronicles her life through lists, poems, songs, secrets, and questions– probing everything from “Can dogs understand humans?” to “Am I too Asian or not Asian enough?”. While navigating newfound romantic feelings, disconnection from her Filipino roots, and the weight of purity and worthiness in the eyes of her Catholic upbringing, Bryanna grapples with colliding narratives between the story she is trying to tell and the one that others impose upon her.

Bryanna’s story is an unfiltered, honest, and deeply relatable journey that balances humor with vulnerability. Derived entirely from fifteen years of home video footage, hundreds of diary entries, high school papers, religious pamphlets, text messages, doctor’s notes, and private social media conversations with no new writing introduced to the script, Sincerely, (The Diary Play) transports audiences back to the uncertainty of growing up through the raw musings of a child.
