Richmond’s Boxer Brief 5K Run/Walk brings together colorectal cancer survivors, patients, family, friends, neighbors, and colleagues to energize efforts to prevent and defeat our country’s second cancer killer in men and women. Colorectal cancer is a preventable cancer and the proceeds support the work of Hitting Cancer Below the Belt (HCB2) to continue their screening and educational services.

Music, costumes, games, food, and prizes creates a high energy morning!  Awards will be given to the overall fastest man and woman along with the top age group males and females. Team Awards are offered for Best Team Costume, Largest Social Team, and Largest Corporate Team which highlights the tremendous team passion along the course. We are rewarding participants who share their special URL code and bring THREE or more additional participants to the event with a $10 refund. Locate your special URL code on the email confirmation you receive after registering. We appreciate the referrals which we know saves lives!

Everyone Can Join In!

HCB2 offers a GLOBAL virtual challenge option for those living outside of Richmond, Virginia or for those interested in an entire weekend challenge. The goal of the virtual option is to accumulate miles as participants participate in various activities. The miles accumulated can be achieved through the following activities: Walk, Run, Ride, Swim or Paddle! Collect miles as you participate in multiple activities throughout the weekend of June 8th – June 9th! Perfect for the triathlete, the runner who also likes to hike, our swimmer friends, and for those rowing and paddling on the water. No need to record a time, we just need your miles and your awesome photos!

Please post your photos and tag @hittingcancerbelowthebelt with the #BoxerBrief5K #HCB2. You can also upload photos on the registration website. Your swag will be mailed to you prior to the event. Remember, you can run, walk, swim, bike, or paddle to collect miles all weekend.

Extra Fun for Everyone!

Returning to the onsite event is the High School Challenge. High School students can win money for their schools and designate the department to receive those funds. The top male and female finishers in the High School Challenge win $2o0 each for their school. An extra $100 is awarded to the school with the largest school participation. The Best High School costume is also recognized. The student rate to participate and compete for their school is just $30 and will not increase.
