A 20 year veteran and standard bearer of the modern música popular brasileira scene with duet albums in collaboration with samba legends like Arlindo Cruz and Seu Jorge, Rogê recently stepped away from Brasilian stardom, moving to Los Angeles and releasing his 2023 album, Curyman, on a U.S. label. That LP is more of a refinement than a remaking of Rogê's enchanting, spirited sound, imbued with raucous funk and the heartbreaking melancholy of saudade.
