Please join us for our Circle Singing Music Education Festival

Come explore spontaneous music-making in an ensemble of only voices. Our clinician is Judi Vinar, singer, songwriter, director, arranger, voice teacher, and longtime collaborator with circle singing pioneer Bobby McFerrin.

All are welcome to attend, including collegiate and in-service elementary and secondary music educators, community-based teaching artists, and musicians in our greater community! Ten PDPs are available for those who attend both days of the Festival. Click on the link below for more information and registration. Hope to see you there!

In this 2-day workshop, participants will:

-Experience the excitement of creating circle songs
-Strengthen musicianship skills for performing and improvising
-Learn to facilitate improvisation activities in any music setting
-Build community through circle singing
-Reflect on how to implement new music-making possibilities in traditional ensembles

The registration fee ($10 per day/$20 for both days*) includes

-Discount coupon for parking
-UMass Catering box lunch for Monday, March 31. On Tuesday, April 1, we invite you to enjoy the award-winning Campus Center dining options on your own.

Current UMass Amherst music education majors, music student teachers, and in-service teachers who are currently supervising or have supervised a UMass Amherst music student teacher may attend free of charge.

In-service teachers who attend both days in their entirety and complete a synthesis assignment will earn 10 Professional Development Points at no extra cost.
