Citywide 4th of July Celebration

City of Bettendorf hosts a 4th of July Celebration on July 4th which includes a day full of festivities: a PARADE in Downtown Bettendorf, a FESTIVAL on Spruce Hills Drive in front of Cumberland Square, and a FIREWORKS SHOW in Middle Park.

T.J. Regul, The Quad City Magician (T.J. will be strolling throughout the festival performing magic tricks and making balloon animals)

Optimist Kids Fishing Derby

Middle Park Lagoon, 10am - 2pm

This is a free event and prizes will be awarded! Bring your own fishing pole if you have one. Some will be available on - site as well. Hot dogs, chips, and lemonade will be provided for all participants.

Time: 10am

Location: Downtown Bettendorf

Parade Route

The procession begins at the intersection of 23rd Street and State Street and will go east on State Street, curve around to Grant Street, west on Grant Street to 16th Street, turning south on 16th Street, east on State Street, and ends at 21st Street.

Sky Lanterns

Sky lanterns are prohibited in the City of Bettendorf under the International Fire Code. Sky Lanterns, or sometimes called, Floating Lanterns, Wishing Lanterns, and Celebration Lanterns are airborne paper lanterns with a small candle or fuel cell that when lit, heats the air in the lantern making it rise.

Consumer Fireworks

Consumer Fireworks are restricted to July 3 and July 4 from 2pm until 11pm each day.

Residents are allowed to shoot off fireworks on their own property or have permission from the property owner. Individuals may not shoot off fireworks on public property, streets, or in city parks. This includes Middle Park during fireworks display.  

Fireworks outside of the approved dates/times will not be allowed and the offender is subject to a fine. The fines are as follows: 1st  offense $250.00, 2nd offense $400.00, and 3rd or more offenses $625.00. Both adults and minors are subject to fines for violating the fireworks ordinance.
