The best (and only) science festival in Colorado is back again with 16 days of fun and engaging events designed to showcase STEAM where it's taking place in Colorado Springs and around the Pikes Peak Region.  There are events for all ages- adults, kids, teens and families - and most are absolutely free (some events may have a fee to help the hosts cover their costs). ​ 

We'll have dozens of exciting science magic shows, laboratory tours and demos, rockets, drone soccer, live animals robots, liquid nitrogen ice cream, Insectapalooza, and lots of other hands-on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Math) activities and exhibits for kids (primarily K-8th grades).  It's all Free (even the parking) and fun for all ages!

Once Carnival Day is over, the festival events kick into high gear.  There will be events for all ages, pre-K to adults, and most are free.

10 - 11am: Virtual Event- APPR Presents: Author Rosemary Mosco - PPLD Virtual

Virtual Event: Join Pikes Peak Library District as we welcome author Rosemary Mosco to discuss her book Butterflies are Pretty...Gross, a 2025 All Pikes Peak Reads selection.  Rosemary will read from Butterflies are Pretty...Gross and be prepared to answer any and all questions about butterflies. 

Rosemary is an author, illustrator, and speaker whose work connects people with the natural world.  She’s written and drawn for The New York Times, Audubon, Rewiring America, the PBS Kids show Elinor Wonders Why, Ranger Rick, and more, and makes a regular comic strip in the Cornell Lab of Ornithology's Living Birdmagazine.  She creates science books for kids and adults and the nature comic Bird and Moon, which won the National Cartoonists Society’s award for Best Online Short Form Comic and was the subject of an award-winning museum exhibit.

11 - 11:30am: Create & Play

Creative and playful adventures with art for children ages 1 – 5 and their parents or caregivers.  Be sure to wear clothes that you don't mind getting messy.

3:30 - 6pm: Math Tutoring

Need math help? Come work with our community volunteer tutors.  All grade levels welcome. No reservations necessary.  Tutors available on a first-come, first-served basis. Tutoring is provided free of charge.
