Show Your Patriotism

The small town of Crawford celebrates Independence Day in a big way each year. The community goes all out, hosting two PRCA rodeos, a parade and a slew of other events, ranging from a 5K to activities for all ages at the city park. The Western Wildlife Art Show is held in conjunction with the events at nearby Fort Robinson, showcasing art that captures rural life at its best. The final PRCA rodeo concludes with a firework show.

The bulk of the activities take place on July 4, but the days surrounding Independence Day have fun events to attend.

Schedule of Events

July 4, 2025

7:30 a.m. – White River 5K Fun Run/Walk (Post Playhouse, Fort Robinson State Park, Registration starts at 6:45 a.m.)

10 a.m. – Parade, which will feature an F-16 Flyover to start the parade, performed by Kent Moody, a member of the 162nd Wing of the Air National Guard in Tucson, AZ

10 a.m. – 6 p.m. – Western Wildlife Art Show, Fort Robinson State Park

10am — Humanities Nebraska Presentation: David Marsh — Music of the Plains

12pm — Humanities Nebraska Presentation: Jerome Kills Small — Children’s Stories, Animal Stories, Traditional Lakota Stories

2pm — Humanities Nebraska Presentation: David Marsh — Music of the Civil War

3pm — Awards: People’s Choice, Excellence in Art, and 2026 Featured Artist

11 a.m. – 1 p.m. – 4th of July BBQ, Fort Robinson State Park

11 a.m. – 4 p.m. Celebration in the Park

-- Co-ed Sand Volleyball Tournament (11 a.m. Limited to 8 teams)
-- Cornhole Tournament (1 p.m.)
-- Horseshoes, tin can baseball, vendors

2 p.m. – David Hewitt Memorial Wild West Triathlon, Fort Robinson State Park to Crawford City Park

3:30 p.m. – Following the conclusion of the Triathlon, the winners of the Apply-A-Pie Contest will be announced, Crawford City Park

8 p.m. – Old West Trail PRCA Rodeo, followed by Mr. Fireworks display, Rodeo Arena
