We´re excited to present the 10th Annual Dirty Spokes Charleston Park 6.2/4.3 Mile Trail Running Race!

Runners registration for the 2025 Dirty Spokes Charleston Park 6.2/4.3 Mile Trail Running Race is OPEN! We will have a cap on this race of 250 Participants! We are placing a cap on this event for 2 reasons... 1 parking availability, 2 getting that amount of runners into the woods (if you are interested in participating please register soon)!

Course:

This is great single and double track off-road running experience. The terrain is made up of a little bit of everything, rolling hills, single track, double track, roots and rocks. The course is beautiful and offers something for every runner truly wishing to ´ditch the city´.

6.2 Mile Race Course

GPS unit measures course at 5.59 miles; Calibrated Bicycle Computer "wheel" measures course at 6.2 miles. Please note GPS Units do not capture every twist and turn in the woods as bicycle wheel does roll every twist and turn. Race will start on the asphalt road (parking lot next to the trailhead) then lead into the woods. The trail running surface is very easy to navigate... it consists of both single and double track with plenty of elevation change and some technical sections (roots and rocks). The race will be run in a "counter clockwise direction". Please Note... at Mile 1.70 the 6.2 Milers (long course) will stay straight and the 4.3 Milers (short course) will veer left. The 2 distances will come back together at mile 2.50 staying together until mile 2.75 (at 2.75 miles the long course runners will stay straight (veer left) and the short course runners will turn hard right at the wooden benches). The long course runners will merge together with the short course runners again at mile 4.0 and stay on the same route until the finish! We are fortunate to get the opportunity to visit a lot of pretty venues! The back drop for Charleston Park might be one of the best (Sweet Lake Views)!

4.3 Mile Race Course

GPS unit measures course at 3.87 miles; Calibrated Bicycle Computer "wheel" measures course at 4.3 miles. Please note GPS Units do not capture every twist and turn in the woods as bicycle wheel does roll every twist and turn. Race will start on the asphalt road (parking lot next to the trailhead) then lead into the woods. The trail running surface is very easy to navigate... it consists of both single and double track with plenty of elevation change and some technical sections (roots and rocks but not as much as the 6.2 milers). The race will be run in a "counter clockwise direction". Please Note... at Mile 1.70 the 4.3 Milers (short course) will veer left and the 6.2 Milers (long course) will stay straight. The 2 distances will come back together at mile 1.95 with the short course turning hard left. They will stay together until mile 2.15 (at 2.15 miles the short course runners will turn hard right at the wooden benches and the long course runners will stay straight). The short course runners will merge together with the long course runners at mile 2.15 and stay on the same route until the finish! We are fortunate to get the opportunity to visit a lot of pretty venues! The back drop for Charleston Park might be one of the best (Sweet Lake Views)!

Awards

Awards will be given out when we have enough finishers in to fill the categories. Medals will be given out to the top three finishers in each category. Walkers are encouraged to participate; however, you should be able to complete the 6.2 / 4.3 miles at a 16 minute mile pace or under to receive an official time.
