On New Year’s Day, Georgia State Parks and Historic Sites will once again kick off the New Year with the statewide First Day Hike tradition! Two unique hikes will be offered at Amicalola Falls State Park, starting at 9:30am and 12:00pm. A Birds of Prey Show at 11am in the Arch Room of Visitor's Center caps off this great day.
Join our Interpretive Rangers in the Visitor's Center to begin your 1.9 mi round-trip hike up the famous the Appalachian Approach Trail, climb 604 iconic stairs to enjoy Georgia's tallest waterfall and stunning mountain vista views. On the way, learn about Amicalola Falls State Park's natural history, human history, and native plant and wildlife! Bring your new years' resolutions or make one with us!
At 11:00am, find Blue Ridge Raptors in the Visitor Center's Arch Room for a Birds of Prey show!
