First Day Hikes is a national-led effort that encourages individuals and families to experience, with a seasoned guide, the beautiful natural and cultural resources found in the outdoors and in doing so may inspire them to take advantage of these treasures throughout the year and an individual’s lifetime. Nature has been proven to boost our moods and make us feel healthy and exploring the outdoors is the perfect way to start the new year.

Location: Meet at Malibu Creek State Park. Malibu Creek Volunteer Docents will be at the main trailhead parking lot from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Parking: Parking $3/hour; $12 all day.

What to Expect: Want to hike at Malibu Creek State Park but need advice on trails? Our Malibu Creek Volunteer Docents will be at the main trailhead parking lot from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. to provide you with information on trails and to answer any questions!

Length of Hike: 0.0 mile, 5 hours

Preparation: When hiking in Malibu Creek State Park, wear sturdy shoes, bring lots of water, sun protection and layers

Special Instructions: We are offering multiple guided hikes at Malibu Creek (see other posts). This is for those who want to hike on their own but want advice on where to hike.
