Start your new year surrounded by the beautiful historic scenery of Prairie Grove Battlefield State Park. Join a park interpreter at the Battlefield trailhead, next to the Latta Barn, as we “walk back in time” along the 1-mile trail loop. Enjoy the natural world around you and learn more about the history of the Civil War and the battle that took place here. “First Day Hikes” are part of a nationwide initiative at State Parks across the country to promote healthy lifestyles. Pets are welcome but must be on a leash. Remember to dress appropriately for the weather; wear sturdy, comfortable walking shoes, and bring water.
