Fourth of July Parade

The Cotuit Post Office

The parade kicks off from the Cotuit Post Office at 11:00 am and proceeds down Main Street to the Cotuit Elementary School. Be aware that roads in the area close at 10:00 am. Who doesn’t love a parade? For decades, the Association has organized and produced Cotuit’s version of this small-town American classic. Since its inception in 1976, the parade has been well known as Cape Cod’s best parade and annually draws more than 10,000 people to our tiny village.

A Town of Barnstable Police motorcycle escort leads a long stream of fabulous antique cars, inspiring bands, and candy-tossing floats. The Cotuit Library, Historical Society of Cotuit & Santuit, Federated Church, Cotuit Mosquito Yacht Club, Cotuit Kettleers, Cotuit Fire Department, the Cahoon Museum, the Cotuit Center for the Arts,  and every other Cotuit organization all join in full regalia. Bringing it all home, the rear guard comprises of the village children – navigating the crowd on bikes festooned in patriotic finery. (Pro tip: Keep your eyes peeled for CSCA Board Members handing out limited edition ribbons, truly collectors’ items.) Don’t miss this wonderful, all-Cotuit/Santuit event.
