The 27th Annual Granite Bay Triathlon is the NorCal/Nevada Tri Club Championship Race, and has one of the most beautiful and challenging courses in California for a Sprint Triathlon with a .75 mile lake swim, an 12-mile three-lap bike course, and an always interesting 5-mile trail run on a combination of fire road, single track and pavement.
Athletes will receive a Granite Bay Triathlon finisher shirt and hat, plus a post-race lunch.
Bike Course
The 12 mile bike course starts on Old County Road. The course turns right on the main park road and loops around Oak Point before continuing on the rolling, twisty, turny road to the turn-around at Beeks Bight. Three laps on the bike course. All athletes must complete all three laps before returning to the transition area.
Run Course
The 5 mile run course starts south toward Beals Point from the Old County Road transition area. The course will run down Granite Main Beach at the ½ mile mark. The course will continue south on single track and pavement to the 1.5 mile mark and the first aid station. The course continues south for 1.25 miles on the Pioneer Express fire road to the next aid station (this stretch will be out/back). The course returns to the aid station at the mile 4 and heads to the finish line.
