The Hockessin 4th of July is a Community Tradition That Dates Back Almost 50 Years. We’re 100% Volunteer-driven and Supported Solely by Donations and Work Hard to Provide an Awesome Day of Events for the Hockessin Community. Starting With Neighborhood Relays in the Morning, the Best 4th of July Parade in the Afternoon and Culminating With an Amazing Fireworks Display at Dusk. Parade:

Voted the Best 4th of July Parade in Delaware! Sign Up Your Business, Community Group, Non-profit, Antique Car, or Register a Float to Participate in the Parade This Year.

Time: Parade Begins at 3:00pm

Where: Old Lancaster Pike, Hockessin, DE

Roads Closed: Old Lancaster Pike From Kenwick Rd to Valley Rd.

Roads Are to Be Closed From 1:45pm Through the End of the Parade (Approx. 4:15pm).

Relay Races:

The Hockessin Athletic Club (Hac) is Once Again Sponsoring the Neighborhood Relays for the Annual 4th of July Celebration. Fill Out This Application to Enter Your Neighborhood Team(S) to Join in the Fun. The Following is an Outline for This Year’s Relays, Which Will Run From 9am to 12pm (Setup Starting at 7:30am).

Participants Should Arrive at 8:30am.

Parade of Neighborhoods Begins at 9:00am.

At 9:30am, There Will Be a Fun Run for Ages 5 and Under.

At 11:45am, There Will Be a Fun Run for Ages 15 and Up (Parents, This One is for You Too!)

12:00pm Awards Ceremony and Pictures

Fireworks:

Fireworks Display Begins at Dusk and Can Be Seen From All Over Hockessin.  

Main Viewing Area is Located at Swift Park, Piedmont Baseball Fields, Hockessin Library and Artesian Soccer Fields.
