Welcome back for another year of our Holiday Hustle 5K Fun Run/Walk! This year our committee has chosen a Non-Profit foundation called Susan's Mission out of Morris, IL. Susan's Mission focuses on Special Olympic Team Sports and the inclusion of all. It is their mission to bring awareness to not only special olympics as individual events, but team ones as well. They founded just two years ago and have been hosting a Christmas Holiday Basketball tournament each December at Saratoga school. This is their biggest event and is expected to grow each year. Last year they had 22 teams from around Illinois come and compete in their tournament! We are hoping to raise enough money for them to cover all costs for this event any others they may have in the future! For their sports seasons and at this holiday tournament, Susan's Mission makes everything available to all players at no cost. They hosted this whole event, food for athletes and coaches, completely free. With generous donations from you, this will be another successful event for Susan's Mission.
The race will start at Babe’s Tap, 755 S. Broadway St., travel south on Broadway St. to Reed Rd., left and loop through Cardinal Transport and then back north on Broadway. There is a non-refundable entry fee for early registration which is $30 and if you register 11/22/24 or later it will be $35. Walk up registrations are available but note that it will cost $35. Participants are guaranteed a T-shirt, medal, and swag bag if registered BEFORE November 13th as we need to have time for shirts to be made. Anyone registered after then will receive items while supplies last. The goodie bag, or swag bag, will have quite a few good items this year. Koozies, coupons, chapstick, drink samples, pens, and more!! Babe's Tap will also be providing each participant the opportunity to have 1 free drink (alcoholic or non) and a bowl of chili!
**This is a "Fun Run" and holiday attire is encouraged. Although it is a Fun "Run" this does not mean you must run it. Walking is also permitted.**
Children are also encouraged to join in on the fun.
Awards will be presented to each participant and the Overall top male and female and top male and female finisher in each age division. (14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60 and over). So in reality you have to opportunity to receive 3 Medals!
