More Joy: A Mumoir is a joyful solo, storytelling and character show about motherhood anxiety and self-love. It is told through a pastiche of real life stories in the style of The Moth, with a sprinkling of character work and dream sequence randomness.

More Joy: A Mumoir is an Eat Pray Love tale about a frazzled, first time Mum, who doesn’t have the luxury of a trip to Italy or India because her small kids are either hanging off her leaky boobs, or are down A&E having eaten the mushroom chocolate!

Suz, is a Millennial Mum with a bad case of the baby blues and a postpartum vagina that smells like rotting steak. Set against the loopy backdrop of LA, with her self-deprecating British humour and bitchy inner critic Babs for company, she navigates isolation, loneliness and the monolithic identity crisis that is early motherhood.

Realizing she has to take responsibility for her own happiness, she goes against every cynical bone in her British body, follows a peacock into LA Arboretum, goes puddle jumping after the rain and dances to Insomnia at a DJ workshop (that is meant to be for kids). Seeking out joy in the frolics and fails of her humdrum life, she gives herself permission to play, to have fun and thanks to Whitney X Kygo and a particularly woo-woo ecstatic dance journey, she ultimately learns how to parent and love herself again.
