A burglar breaks into a house in the middle of the night and gets more than they bargained for when they get wrapped up in a married couple’s feud. Throughout the night, the burglar unravels the couple’s secret lives and inadvertently puts their relationship to the test.
What Happens In The Dark is a farcical comedy that uses a lighting convention where the lights are opposite. So when the lights are ON, they’re actually OFF. And when they’re OFF, they’re actually ON. Therefore the audience can only see the characters onstage when they are stumbling around in complete darkness. This convention opens the door to mistaken identity, physical comedy, and side-splitting chaos.
Fundamentally, this is a story about identity and self discovery. As such, we’ve decided to donate 25% of all ticket sales to the Los Angeles LGBT Center! That means that $4 of each $16 ticket will go directly toward their mission of LGBTQ+ activism. For our June 6th preview, tickets are only $4, and 100% of proceeds from that night will go to the LA LGBT Center.
June 6th at 8:30-10pm (preview with $4 tickets), June 19th at 8:30-10pm, June 21st at 10-11:30pm, June 22nd at 8-9:30pm, and June 28th at 11:30am-1pm at the Madnani Theater.
