The Houtzdale Days 5K Walk/Run and Fireman’s Challenge is an annual event during our Houtzdale Days celebration. Participants are awarded medals for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place for Male and Female in each category.
The Fireman’s Challenge is for any participant who wears or carries a complete set of fire gear (pants, coat, boots, and helmet) during the 5K. Gear cannot be carried in a bag. The winners of the Fireman’s Challenge (Male and Female) will receive a plaque and will designate a donation of $250.00 each to the emergency service of their choice (Fire or EMS).
