Independence Day Celebration at Discovery Park of America

Saturday, Jul 5, 2025 at 10:00am

Discovery Park Of America
830 Everett Boulevard

We’re taking our Independence Day Celebration a step beyond in 2025 with a full weekend of festivities.

Come celebrate America’s Independence. Engage in a reenactment of the Boston Tea Party, hear the ringing of our replica Liberty Bell, participate in patriotic community singing, interact with living historians and enjoy other activities throughout the park.

The ceremonial ringing of the Liberty Bell, followed by the Boston Tea Party reenactment, is always a guest favorite. Discovery Park’s replica bell is rung only once a year, making this a unique and memorable occasion.

The bell is rung at 2 p.m. 13 times nationwide as part of the “Let Freedom Ring” Bell Ringing Ceremony. It pays tribute to the 13 founding states symbolized by the signers of the Declaration of Independence. This tradition is the sole Independence Day observance mandated by the federal government.

Schedule of Events
Throughout both days, enjoy historical demonstrations and hands-on activities such as scavenger hunts, coloring pages and more. Our blacksmith will be up and running, showcasing the art of metalworking, while J.C. Stahlman’s Living Historians will provide fascinating insights into the past. Whether you’re a history buff or looking for fun activities for the whole family, this celebration offers something for everyone. Programs are subject to change.
