DJ AlKimmy gets you dancing on a trip through magic moments in different times and worlds guided by the musical journey her own life is on. As an L.A. wild child, "We got to do it all. We'd see some absolutely legendary rock shows on Sunset Strip and then hit up the old school house parties with killer DJ's and rap battles when everything was fresh and fiery. Any reggae, punk or oldies club that would let us in would have us there dancing all night, and after that, we'd go hang out at the Grateful Dead shows." AlKimmy moved to NYC and got involved in the hardcore scene and saw EDM light things up and change the club scene. She traveled through Europe and Asia always looking for that beat, that sound that would get her on the dance floor. Her work has been primarily in Fashion and Film with her jewelry line "Kimberly Faith" being worn by everyone from Beyonce to Britney, and her costuming career includes hits like the first Pirates of the Caribbean movie and the styling of Kid Cudi's "Day 'n Night" video; but her love has always been music. "The DJ thing happened naturally. After one of my Silverlake parties with a crazy good playlist, a musician friend taught me how to work the decks, and it's been my happy place ever since!" DJ Alkimmy mixes world beats with fresh drops, playing everything from those all-time favorite songs to the deep cuts you've forgotten about to new tracks you'll never forget. At the May 2023 Joshua Tree Music Festival, Ding **** kept dancers going til sunrise at the Late Night Headphone House session on Saturday night (sunday morning). And he delivered a scorchin' set here in October 2023 on the Boogaloo Stage. His aural joyfulness is legendary with the Bay Area Brass Tax DJ Crew. For a couple of decades, the Brass Tax have been one of San Francisco's most beloved DJ collectives. Famous for throwing free parties in unusual places, the Brass Tax take their music seriously, but not themselves.
