A Day at CWC Alpine Science Institute

Join us for a day at Central Wyoming College, Alpine Science Institute, Lander's very own "Trail Laboratory."
Special thank you to CWC and ASI for allowing us to host the festival at this amazing local trail system! We appreciate all you do to provide access to local trails!

Our very own, Mike Ruehl is down to school! He's not just a pmBIA Certified Instructor, insane fat biker, and legendary member of the fat bike flannel mafia, he's a Lander Cycling Club Board Member too!

Stacy Wells is here to share the stoke! Holding a BICP and pmBIA Mountain Bike Certification, Stacy has been coaching mountain biking for over 20 years and loves empowering women and youth through all means of outdoor activities. Additionally, Stacy works with CWC ASI running youth programs and as an Adjunct Instructor teaching outdoor education. This spring, Stacy also took on the Administrative Coordinator position for Lander Cycling Club to pass on the joy of cycling!

Darran Wells is the Professor of Outdoor Education for Central Wyoming College in Lander, WY. He has been working professionally in outdoor education since 1999 and teaching mountain bike skills courses and clinics since 2009. He is a certified skills coach for both BICP and pmBIA . Darran and his wife, Stacy, manage the college's Alpine Science Institute where they teach bike clinics, courses, and summer camps for all ages and abilities.

This is a fun, inclusive group ride led by pmBIA Certified Instructor Lindsay Nohl. She's here to welcome you and introduce you to the most amazing outdoor classroom and trail laboratory! This is not intended for instruction, but she's always happy to help with tips for being more comfortable and confident on your bike.

1:00pm - 3:00pm - Bike Maintenance Clinic - $20 early bird price
Mathias Callison is a UBI certified bike mechanic and all-around bike wizard. He completed the mechanic program through the United Bicycle Institute in 2023,
and he is also a certified mountain bike instructor through pmBIA and coached at the Snowshoe Bike Park in West Virginia for three years.

4:30pm - 5:00pm - Foot Down Competition
"Those proficient at the track stand can maintain the position indefinitely". We'll see about that.
5:00pm - 5:30pm - bunny hop Competition
If the Bunny Hop is the foundation for jumps, this competition is where legends begin.
Lander Presents in City Park

In 2015 a group of music lovers gathered around the bar and dreamt of manifesting a summer music series. "Could we actually draw the caliber of musicians we so desire to this little strip of high desert, mountain town in western Wyoming? Yep."
