Kenosha Jazz Festival

Saturday, Nov 9, 2024 at 6:30pm

Indian Trail High School Auditiorium
6800 60th Street

This year's guest artist working with the students is John Sturino. John Sturino is a Juilliard-trained composer, drummer, percussionist, and educator based in New York City.

Sturino's main project is BLOW GLOBE, a contemporary ensemble that melds the sonorities of instrumental jazz and classical music with the ethos of electronic and songwriter music. Winners of the Chamber Music America New Jazz Works Grant 2024, the ensemble features a unique instrumentation that packs the breadth of an entire wind orchestra into a tight ten-person unit. BLOW GLOBE will release their eponymous debut album on June 6th, 2025, and premiere a newly commissioned suite in the Spring of 2025.

Sturino maintains an active schedule as both a performer and an educator, having performed and taught masterclasses at all levels throughout the United States, Australia, Colombia, Cayman Islands, Switzerland, Germany, and China.

Time: 6:30 p.m. Doors open at 6:00 p.m.
