Join the Kona Brewers Festival for a Community Celebration!
Experience Kona’s spirit in celebrating the 30th Craft Beer Anniversary on local culture and community in Hawaii. Kona Brewers Festival: The Kona Brewers Festival is an annual fundraising event that celebrates the love of craft beer, delicious cuisine, live music, and the unique culture of Kailua-Kona, Hawaii. Established in 1996, the beloved community event has become a cherished tradition, attracting visitors and locals alike. Proceeds from the festival support local nonprofits focused on environment, youth, sustainability, and culture, making a positive impact on the Big Island community.
The Kona Brewers Festival is one of those hidden gems in the world of craft brew. Who wouldn’t want to showcase their best brews paired alongside island style cuisine in the heart of Kailua Village? This year we will be showcasing Hawai’i’s finest brewers along with select mainland breweries. Kona Brew Fest is also a celebration of local and participatory art, so a perfect marriage of art and sustainability is represented in the annual Trash Fashion Show. Festival Go-ers delight in the high energy spectacle that shows off the original designs created by our team of local “Trashionistas,” while we all get a reminder about how we can each manage waste more responsibly in our everyday lives. So, who are the “Trashionistas?” The costume designers/performance artists are local artists and friends, and they meet together throughout the year to swap materials, lend areas of expertise, and choose a rocking playlist to excite the crowd at just the right moments.
RUN FOR HOPS:
Join us for the 17th Annual Run for Hops
The day of beer tasting takes off with a running start at the “Run for the Hops” 5K / 10K family fun run/walk. Presented by People for Active Transportation Hawaii (PATH) and BMW of Hawai’i, this event benefits nonprofits working on behalf of Hawai’i Island’s youth, culture and environment. Entry fee is $40 and includes a commemorative T-shirt, award ceremony, beer tasting and nibbles following the race. Registration is limited to the first 600 participants.
